Lafayette Library and Learning Center Author and retired sports journalist Dave Newhouse discusses his latest book, The Yankee Way.

The New York Yankees are undeniably the greatest dynasty not only in baseball, but in all sports. The Yankees, in fact, embody a series of dynasties from Ruth-Gehrig through Jeter-Rivera. Their greatest streak was from 1949 through 1953, when they won five consecutive World Series, an unparalleled feat in baseball history. Catcher Charlie Silvera was the last of eight Yankees who was there for that entire run. He co-authored this fascinating memoire with Newhouse before his death in 2019. With a foreword by Tony La Russa, Baseball Hall Of Fame manager, The Yankee Way is "full of Yankee winning keys, star-studded competitions, and insights about one of baseball's historically fascinating periods."

Newhouse, is a retired East Bay journalist and the author of 19 books including Disqualified, The Game Would Not End, Dare to Dream, and Founding 49ers.
