Celebrate Women’s History Month with author Vivian Kirkfield as she shares the stories of two women who made meaningful contributions to the history of invention.

In 1888 Bertha Benz took the very first road trip in a prototype of the gas-powered automobile driving forward the development and design of the modern automobile. Raye Montague was the first African American and the first woman program manager for the Navy, she revolutionized how ships are designed.

Vivian Kirkfield describes herself in five words - Writer for Children-Reader forever. She is a retired kindergarten teacher with a Masters in Early Childhood Education, enjoying a second career as a children’s author and influencer. Vivian inspires budding writers during classroom visits and shares insights with aspiring authors at conferences and on her blog, Picture Books Help Kids Soar where she hosts the #50PreciousWords International Writing Contest and the #50PreciousWordsforKids Challenge.
