Gold Coast Chamber Players: Brahms Latitude

The award winning Gold Coast Chamber Players bring the finest in chamber music to Lafayette. Founded in 1987, GCCP distinguishes itself by its eclectic programming and by providing community access to leading musicians from throughout the world. The second of this season's concerts, titled Brahms Latitude, will be performed on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Lafayette Library.

Brahms Latitude is an immersion into the great romantic style of Johannes Brahms. Violist Pamela Freund-Striplen joins the international Trio Latitude 41 for Piano Quartet No. 1, op. 25 in g minor highlighting Brahms' love of gypsy music and Piano Trio No. 2, op 87 in C major begins the program.

Truffle Making Workshop

Local truffle making experts, Ellen Reintjes and Don Tatzin, will demonstrate how to make your own truffles at home. Spend an evening learning the process, recipes and tools to use. Participants will be working in teams of two. Don't miss this pre-holiday event!

This is a free event sponsored by the Friends of the Lafayette Library & Learning Center. Ages 18 & over (or 12-17 with an accompanying adult). Space is limited; registration is required. Please note: registration priority will be given to first time participants. Registrants who have attended this workshop before may be placed on a waitlist in order to accommodate first time participants.

Winter Delight Night

This cozy family event opens with live music from the Contra Costa Performing Arts Student Chapter. You won't want to miss their seasonal tunes celebrating the delight of the season!

Our feature performance will come from the Fratello Marionettes. Back by popular demand, this musical extravaganza will showcase the graceful ice skater Crystal Chandelier, the high-kicking antics of the Russian Trepak Dancers, and a trio of dazzling acrobatic penguins. The North Pole Review is the perfect way to celebrate Wintertime fun!

But that's not all. Winter Delight Night wouldn't be complete without cookies, hot chocolate, a fun craft, and tons of photo opportunities!
