The Heart of Our Community
Expansive and modern, the Lafayette Library and Learning Center sits in the heart of downtown Lafayette. It is a welcoming and accessible space for our community across the greater Bay Area.
Campus and Parking
The Lafayette Library, located on Mt. Diablo Boulevard, features free meeting rooms, a Teen Center, modern technology, and an extensive catalogue of media to check out with a library card.
Parking is available on-site and accessed via Golden Gate Way. Street parking is also available.
BART Accessible
Serving the greater Bay Area, the Lafayette Library is conveniently located about a ten-minute walk from the Lafayette BART station.

By Foot & Bicycle
The Library is centrally located in downtown Lafayette, and easy to access by foot or bicycle, with bicycle racks located directly in front of the library lobby as well as on the First Street side of the building.

Friends of the Lafayette Library
Friends Corner Book Shop
Friends of the Lafayette Library and Learning Center is a volunteer-run 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to support the programs, collections, and services of the Lafayette Library. Proceeds from the sale of gently used books go towards underwriting Library programs and enhancing the Library's media collection.

Purchase Books
Friends Corner Book Shop maintains a steady inventory of 20,000 books in 94 categories. Periodically, there are half-price sales on all books, puzzles, and games. Additionally, Friends maintains an Amazon site with an inventory of over 1,000 titles.

Donations

Friends accepts donations of gently used books, DVDs, books on CD, complete puzzles, and board games. They do not accept books that are damaged, mildewed or moldy, smell of tobacco, or have significant underlining, highlighting, or notes. They do not accept encyclopedias, legal casebooks and statutes, magazines, recordings, video or audio cassettes, or music CDs.
Donations can be placed in the grey cabinets located on the ground floor of the parking garage. Books should be removed from bags/boxes. Please donate only two bags/boxes of books at one time to allow space for others to donate.
All donations are tax-deductible. Receipts available at the donation site and inside the Book Shop.

Lafayette Historical Society
The Lafayette Historical Society (LHS) strives to link Lafayette's history to our lives through a growing collection and ongoing programs, publications, and exhibits. With its membership of history buffs, local educators, and interested citizens, the LHS has long collected and chronicled oral histories, treasured photographs, and even Lafayette's beloved "Ol'Betsy," the community's original 1922 Model T fire truck.

Lafayette Library Foundation
The Foundation office is located on the mezzanine level of the Library along the parking garage walkway. Mail can be deposited in the box to the right of the front door or sent to our mailing address.
Staff are available Monday through Friday, but may not be in the office. To contact individual staff members, visit the 'About Us' page.
