Documentary film screening: The Librarians
and conversation with director Kim A. Snyder

Across the U.S., librarians are on the front lines of a growing battle over access to information.
As book bans and censorship efforts surge in states like Texas and Florida, libraries have become contested spaces in the fight for democracy and First Amendment rights.

The Librarians is a powerful documentary that follows librarians as they navigate harassment, laws targeting their work, and the rising tide of extremism driving censorship movements. Through their stories, the film reveals how defending the freedom to read has become both an act of resistance and a reaffirmation of our shared commitment to knowledge, equity, and community.

Join us for a screening and conversation that invites the community to explore the vital role libraries play in preserving access to ideas — and what’s at stake when that access is threatened.
